Christmas story in one act, for children from 3 years old The premier of the performance – 23rd of December 2005 Author - Z. Alegrina Duration - 40 minutes |
There is one children’s game that is named “Close your eyes and keep them
closed until I ask you to open them”. Where both players – the person with
closed eyes, who is waiting for a wonder and the other one, who has promised it
– are connected with an overwhelming feeling – with the belief in a Miracle.
Ordinary as all miracles do, it emerges from darkness (the eyes are closed),
into the light (the eyes are open).
This performance is organized in the
same manner: the audience is plunged for a moment, into darkness, so as to enjoy
the amount of colors on stage, soon after that. The curtain is rising, but there
is only a dense mesh, and you are unable to see anything through it. That is the
frost that covered the windows with ice. And in order for the fairy tale to
begin, it needs to melt away, with us blowing at it.
Only the little
wizards are able to create a Wonder - a weird blob arises on stage and it begins
to expand in all directions using a rainbow of colors and becomes: snowdrifts,
houses with lights in a window, snow-bound trees. Night, stars in the sky and
the owl, dreadfully hooting, all of which give way to a sunny frosty day with
Snow Maiden friends, the koledari carolers...all of which turns the performance
into a magical Christmas fairytale.
